2ND ANNUAL PEI CRAFT BEER WEEK: June 5 – 12, 2021
(Charlottetown, PE) PEI Craft Beer Alliance is pleased to announce that PEI Craft Beer Week, in partnership with PEI Liquor, Atlantic Beef Products and PEI Cattle Producers, will return this year from June 5th – 12th. This week was developed to create a buzz around the local craft beer industry at the start of the summer season by nine craft breweries on PEI. Events will be happening around Prince Edward Island at local brewery taprooms in celebration of local craft beer culture every day from June 5th-12th. Participating in PEI Craft Beer Week are PEI Brewing Company, Moth Lane Brewing, Upstreet Craft Brewing, Copper Bottom Brewing, Bogside Brewing, Evermoore Brewing Co, Village Green, Lone Oak Brewing and Gahan Brewery.
All breweries will be hosting events unique to their location and taproom experience. Events include tap takeovers, sensory panel and beer tastings, mystery flights, beer launches, brewers’ brunches, live music, food and drink specials and more!
Bryan Carver of Village Green is looking forward to celebrating the growth of the industry. “As someone who has been working in the PEI beer industry for well over a decade in various roles, I greatly look forward to joining Island beer lovers in celebrating the growth the industry has experienced. PEI easily has one of the best beer scenes going, and I am happy to have Modern Brewer’s Village Green help solidify that reputation.”
Jeff Squires of the PEI Brewing Company commented, “The inaugural PEI Craft Beer Week in 2019 was a big success, and after pausing last year due to COVID, we are looking forward to bringing Islanders together in celebration of Island craft beer once again.” Added Squires, “With two new breweries joining the PEI Craft Beer Alliance since 2019, there is even more for Islanders enjoy this year.”
Jared Murphy of Lone Oak Brewing is also thrilled to be a part of their first PEI Craft Beer Week. “Here at Lone Oak we are very excited to be involved in our first PEI Craft Beer Week! As one of the Island’s newest breweries, we look forward to celebrating what has become a thriving industry here on PEI. How lucky are we to have nine top quality craft producers all located in Canada’s smallest province? Cheers to that!”
New this year, and the signature event for the week, is Beef & Brews. Presented by Atlantic Beef Products and PEI Cattle Producers, Beef & Brews is a true taste of the Island. Each brewery had an opportunity to provide a creative expression of the wonderful food and beer choices we have here on PEI by pairing one of their brews to a featured beef dish.
“The success of the PEI Cattle Producers is built on responsible and sustainable farming practices. Working with Atlantic Beef Products Inc., we are proud to supply a local, quality product and look forward to many delicious “Beef and Brews” dishes”, said Kevin Simmons, Chairman of PEI Cattle Producers.
“Craft beer and craft beef! What a fabulous combination. At Atlantic Beef, we’re eagerly anticipating the creativity and the delicious Beef & Brews combinations from our local breweries pairing fresh and delicious local beef with their outstanding beers”, said Russ Mallard, President of Atlantic Beef Products Inc. “We’re proud to support the great tastes of the Island.”

ABOUT THE PEI CRAFT BEER ALLIANCE:
With nine operating breweries currently in Prince Edward Island, there’s no doubt that the industry is growing. With growth, comes new opportunities for partnership among the collective. Since May 2018 the group has worked together to create a vibrant culture of partnership with the PEI Craft Beer Industry.
The Alliance was created to help develop the industry and showcase what the craft beer industry is contributing to the economy on Prince Edward Island. Other topics discussed included regional taxation policies, marketing, along with unique promotional opportunities to grow PEI Craft Beer as well as and working with liquor boards across Canada.
With over 200 full and part time staff among all operating breweries, the industry is only looking to expand. The PEI Craft Brewers Alliance is hoping to meet semi-annually. Stay tuned for exciting initiatives to elevate PEI as Canada’s Food (and drink) Island from this group of innovative entrepreneurs.
